  • Eliane Yvonne Paglicauan

My name is Yvonne, and I am a fourth-year undergraduate student in the life sciences at the University of Manitoba, majoring in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry. As a co-op student, I am enthusiastic about exploring scientific inquiries and maximizing research opportunities, from doing benchwork in the laboratory to attending conferences and networking sessions. After obtaining my Bachelor's degree, I plan to pursue my Master's degree and am currently exploring different research areas. I show active interest in basic science research as it is a field I am familiar with, and I believe that working as a Student Research Assistant under Dr. Delisle this Fall 2024 will be an amazing opportunity to explore clinical research. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, exploring cute spots in Winnipeg, and hanging out with my cat, Rain!

  • Céline Dainhi - Undergraduate Co-Op Student 2024

I am Céline, an international student from Côte d'Ivoire (in West Africa), currently studying Biochemistry-Microbiology at the Université de Saint-Boniface. Working with Megan is a great opportunity for me to grow and learn, as I plan to work in the medical field and am interested in research! When I am not working, I love to read, play video games, and visit the world around me.

I am Charmi Rana and I am in the last year of my Bachelor’s of Health Studies at the University of Manitoba. I will be graduating this October. I am an international student from Gujarat, India. I came here in December 2019, after completing high school.
I will be helping with the Patient Decision Aid research project as a part of my undergraduate research.

  • Dana Inglis - Medical Student 2024

My name is Dana and I am a second year medical student at the Max Rady College of Medicine. Throughout my medical school journey I’ve become passionate about student wellness, primarily through organizing events where students can engage in creative activities such as guided paint nights and art expos. My areas of interest lie primarily in surgical specialties such as Otolaryngology and Obstetrics & Gynecology, although I’ve also developed interests in Dermatology and Gastroenterology. On the days I’m not studying for an exam I enjoy painting, playing basketball, travelling, and walking my 13 year old chocolate lab Tessa.

  • Nicole Alcasid - Undergraduate Co-Op Student 2024

My name is Nicole and I’m one of Megan’s Student Research Assistants! I started in the beginning of May and I’m very excited to begin work with the team here at the Health Services Research Lab. I just completed my fourth year of a Genetics undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba and hope to pursue genetic counseling post-grad, so working with patients this summer will be invaluable to me. Outside of school, I enjoy reading, rock climbing, and spending time with my dog, Mabel.

  • Doris Goubran - Medical Student 2024

My name is Doris Goubran. I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences in 2023 from University of Manitoba and now I am a first year medical student here. I’ve been working with Dr. Delisle since November and I will be here full time this summer. My main project is “Improving Cancer Surgery through Continuous, Province-Wide Feedback for Surgeons.” This project is the second part of a two-part study. In the first part we will use quantitative methods to measure variation in breast cancer quality indicators across surgeons. The goal of this project is to obtain the perspective of surgeons on barriers they face to addressing variations in cancer surgery quality indicators and create solutions to close these gaps.
Outside of work, I am active in my community. After being a participant myself for over a decade in my Church's program for children, I am now a youth leader in the program. This summer, I am hoping to do a mission trip in Egypt with my Church community. Other things that keep me busy are cooking traditional foods and spending time with my friends and family!
